Antubis is a seemingly giant anteater, and is often at Mary Jensen's side. He walks the passageways of the Old Kingdom, and the New Kingdom, the hospital that sits over the site of a mill that was burned down in the early 20th Century. But this is only part of the story. As Mary describes him, "He heals and he kills. He eats disease and likes to be scratched between the ears. He's horrible, and beautiful." He might be a supernatural entity, or perhaps the name that Mary calls him is mispronunciation of something much older, much older and very powerful. The name does sounds very similar to Anubis, the Egyptian God. Who judges the soul, and decides who is good or bad by their heart. Perhaps he's only like this as the given name suggests the form. Or as he says, 'I'm different things to different people."
Sometimes, he'll appear human, and resembles Paul with longer hair, and wearing an ankh necklace. His appearance seems to be also be dictated by Mary, since this is the side of Paul she's comfortable with.
